So I have a sprint triathlon tomorrow afternoon, yes the start time is 4pm, and I havent swam since 2 weeks ago. I thought I’d go for one last swim this evening, and time the 400 yds straight swimming, no rest. Below is the whole workout:
200 yd warm-up
400 yd free timed – 10:52 (this is practice for tomorrow’s sprint tri, only 400 m)
200 yd cool down
I was in the pool from 7-7:30pm so I estimate it took a total of 30 minutes for the workout. Not bad, but we’ll see how tomorrow goes!
Rode 13.8 miles in 60 mins through Spin class.
I forgot my HRM again! Anyway, this workout went well, we did hills in the beginning, ie., I increased the resistance, maybe too much because my quads were sore after! If only I can do the same thing while road biking…
I count this as training. So the Silicon Valley Triathlon Club (SVTC) had a meeting last night (Monday 4/12) and I got to the place of the meeting at Sports Basement by 6-ish pm – I thought the meeting started at 6. Well, it doesnt start until 7pm. So I changed in the dressing room of Sports Basement (bags needed to be checked when you enter the store), and then went for a short run, just 2 times around the block. My legs felt heavy again! I think I need new running shoes, I’ve ran 3 marathons plus training with my current shoes. Anyway, in the end I still felt good and strong as I was practising 10 second sprints on the flat long way.
Total miles = 2.7
Total time = 23:43 (approx 8:47 pace… Wow!)
